"Ishizuchi-yama, that is proud of its highest peak in western Japan, is one of the "Nihon Nana Reizan" (Seven Holy Mountains in Japan), with the altitude 1,982 meters (1.2 miles).
In the area of "Ishizuchi Shrine", which is the worship of "Ishizuchi-yama", there is "Chojo-sha" on the summit, "Jojyu-sha" on the hillside, "Gokuraku Temple", and sacred places where devout people gather. Many mountain ascetics in white are there too.
The view from the summit is magnificent and you can get full sight of Setonaikai (Seto Inland Sea), the Chugoku region and Kujurenzan (Mount Kuju).
In the south part of Ishizuchi-yama, you can also enjoy a beautiful view of the biggest gorge in Shikoku, and laying Omogokei-valley with a clear stream, waterfall, and abyss which is proud of its blue water.
